Where do Y-Tips fit in?
Are you trying to compare Nano/Micro Hair Extensions with Tape Extensions?
Y-tip hair extensions bridge that gap.
Y-tip hair extensions combine hair spread across a flat fastening like tape extensions - but with the ease of installation of Nano/Micro Hair Extensions - and without any glue.
With tape hair extensions, they lay flat to the head. Nano/Micro extensions lay almost flat to the head, but have a roundness to the keratin bond at the loop fastening, with the hair flowing down in a more circular formation.
In terms of versatility, tape extensions struggle to be pulled in all directions, whereas Nano/Micro Extensions can be rotated at all angles freely.
The hair in a Y-tip extension is 1g in weight like Nano/Micro, and spread more thinly across a 1cm size tab (not circular), with the point of the ‘Y’ facing upwards and is attached to the hair using a micro bead (5mm), without the need for any glue.
Therefore if you’re client is wanting the seamless blend with their natural hair that they can get with tape extensions, but with the fastening of a non-glue install like with Nano/Micro extensions - the Y-tip is the perfect option and offers the best of both worlds!
Client’s can still move their hair around/up easily, but it’s worth noting that the install will take longer than a tape extensions install (the same as a Nano/Micro install).
